Getting to Chateau Barayre
Arriving by plane
Nearest airport is Bergerac at a 30 minutes drive. This is a smaller airport, here you can check their destinations. From Bergerac you can rent a car, take a taxi, or if coming with a bigger group, rent a van. Renting a van is usually is usually the most economical option if you arrive with more than 10 guests at the same time.
Both Bordeaux and Toulouse are international airports that are a 2 hour drive away. They have continental and intercontinental flights.
Other, even bigger airports are those of Paris Charles de Gaulle and Barcelona (5 hours).
If you arrive at Bordeaux or Toulouse airport you can take a taxi (count on 110-250€ for one way), rent a car or rent a van if arriving with more than 8 people.
If arriving in Paris you can take the high speed train to Bordeaux (2h) or Agen (3,5h). Arrive at the castle by taxi or van. As it is a smaller city and station, travelling to Agen will give you the most comfortable and economical trip.
Arriving by high speed train (TGV)
Nearest TGV stations are:
- Agen: 45 minute drive to the chateau
- Bordeaux: 2 hour drive to the chateau
TGV travel time to Bordeaux from the north:
- Paris: 2 hours on train
- Brussels: 3.5 hours on train
- London: 5 hours on train
- Rotterdam: 5 hours on train
TGV travel time to Agen from the north:
- Paris: 3 hours on train
- Brussels: 4.5 hours on train
- London: 6 hours on train
- Rotterdam: 6 hours on train
TGV travel time to Agen from the south:
- Toulouse: 1 hour on train
- Marseille: 5 hours on train
- Barcelona: 5 hours on train
From the station take a taxi or van. If more than 8 people, a van is usually the most easy and economical option.

Arriving by regional train (TER)
It’s possible to get even closer to the castle by taking the TER regional train.
From Bordeaux take the TER regional train to Bergerac which will take about 1h15 for about 15€. Then take a taxi (20€) to cover the last few kilometers or take a lift using the BlaBla Car app.
From Agen take the TER regional train to Monsempron-Libos which will take about 1h15 for about 15€. Then take a taxi (35€) to cover the last few kilometers of find a lift using the BlaBla Car app.
